Health Care Veteran Dr. Barry Chaiken to Lead Central Logic’s New Advisory Board of Industry Executives

Chaiken and leading healthcare executives will advise CEO on strategy, product development, strategic partnerships, industry trends, and more

SALT LAKE CITY--()--Central Logic, the healthcare industry’s leading provider of innovative transfer center and on-call scheduling technology solutions, is bringing together healthcare executives to provide a well-rounded view of how the industry is quickly evolving. Central Logic’s Executive Board of Advisors will guide the company’s continued effort to develop, broaden and expand their solutions to provide greater visibility into the entire patient care continuum. The board will advise the rapid need for change to align with IT security, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations and policies.

The company is tapping Dr. Barry Chaiken to serve as Chairman of the newly created Board of Advisors. As founder of DocsNetwork. Ltd., Chaiken served as a Healthcare Advisory Board member at Aventura, ProtoHIT, VisualDX, Symphony Corporation, PanGenX, Imprivata, and Phytel.

“Dr. Chaiken brings more than 30 years of healthcare information technology experience to the Advisory Board and will help lead the charge in creating impactful products that will enhance and improve patient care,” said Central Logic Chairperson and CEO, Jennifer Holmes. “His extensive knowledge in patient safety, clinical transformation, and public health will result in meaningful work to address the complete continuum of care which is our primary mission at Central Logic.”

Chaiken was the Board Liaison to Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Europe for four years and served as the organization’s HIMSS Board Chairman from 2009-2010.

He has delivered more than 60 Continuing Medical Education lectures, and is currently on the editorial board of the journal of Patient Safety and Quality Healthcare.

Chaiken also writes a column on technology and quality for the journal Patient Safety and Quality Health Care, serves as Conference Chair for the annual Disruptive Healthcare Conference, and is a frequent contributor to WTN Media’s online publications.

As a faculty member at Boston University, Chaiken teaches a graduate level course in health information technology.

Chaiken received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, NYC, his master’s degree in public health degree in health services administration from the Harvard School of Public Health and his bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University at Albany. He acquired his specialty training from the Centers for Disease Control as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer and from the New Jersey State Department of Health as a preventive medicine resident.
