Shiseido Americas Announces Appointment of Deanna Johnston as Chief Information Officer

NEW YORK--()--Shiseido Americas Corporation (“Shiseido Americas” or “the Company”), a subsidiary of Tokyo-based, global cosmetics company Shiseido Company, Limited (“Shiseido”), today announced the appointment of Deanna Johnston as Chief Information Officer, effective October 26, 2016. Ms. Johnston will work closely with regional and global leadership to further develop Shiseido Americas’ IT strategic roadmap and organizational structure, including working with the company’s businesses, shared services, Digital Center of Excellence and other internal groups to evaluate new technologies to accelerate change management. She will play an important role in the corporate structure serving Shiseido’s prestige brands in the Americas, including NARS Cosmetics, Bare Escentuals, Shiseido Cosmetics America, Beauté Prestige International USA (BPI), Laura Mercier and RéVive, and the company’s subsidiaries in Canada and Brazil. Ms. Johnston will report to Ronald Gee, Chief Financial Officer of Shiseido Americas.

Ms. Johnston has over 20 years of experience directing and executing on business transformation strategies and leading large, complex application development projects and teams, particularly in the consumer products industry. She joins Shiseido from Haier Group, the $32 billion multinational appliance and consumer electronics manufacturer, where she served as Chief Information Officer of the Americas division and successfully led the integration of the company’s newly acquired GE Appliances entity. Before that, she spent over six years leading global IT strategy at consumer electronics manufacturer Belkin International as the Chief Information Officer. Ms. Johnston also previously served in various roles in IT strategy and business consulting, including with Ingram Micro, Apria Healthcare, Arthur Andersen Business Consulting and Price Waterhouse. Ms. Johnston received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington.
