SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bernie Sanders, United States Senator and former Presidential candidate, will host a meet and greet for his new memoir, “Our Revolution: A Future to Believe In” on Monday, November 21 at 12:30 p.m. at Books-A-Million in South Portland, located at 430 Gorham Road.
In the riveting “Our Revolution,” Sanders shares his personal experiences from the campaign that was once considered by the political establishment and media as a “fringe campaign” and something not to be taken seriously. Despite mockery, the independent senator with little name recognition, no money and no political organization ended up receiving 13 million votes in primaries and caucuses throughout the country, won 22 states and had more than 1.4 million people attend his public meetings. Most importantly, he showed the American people were prepared to take on the greed and irresponsibility of corporate America and the 1 percent.
His memoir recounts details of the historic primary fight and the people who made it possible. Despite not winning the ticket, Sanders continues to rally on to ignite a political revolution. For the millions of people looking to join him, “Our Revolution” outlines a progressive economic, environmental, racial and social justice agenda that – he believes – will create jobs, raise wages, protect the environment and provide healthcare for all; and ultimately, transform the country and the world for the better.
Wristbands are required to attend the author event and are available for purchase from the South Portland Books-A-Million store or online at bamberniesanders.eventbrite.com. During the meet and greet, attendees will get the opportunity to have a photograph taken with Sanders. Unsigned hardcover copies of the book will be distributed at the event’s conclusion, with a select number of pre-signed books distributed at random. Please note: personal items that cannot be pocketed will not be permitted; this includes backpacks, purses, shopping bags, etc.
