Celanese rileva SO.F.TER. Group

L’acquisizione diversificata consolida e rinforza la leadership globale di Celanese nel settore dei materiali ingegneristici

DALLAS e FORLI’, Italia--()--Celanese Corporation (NYSE: CE), Multinazionale che opera nel campo della tecnologia e dei materiali speciali, ha oggi annunciato di avere firmato l’accordo definitivo per l’acquisizione della Societa’ Italiana di Forli SO.F.TER. Group, uno dei maggiori compaundatori indipendenti a livello mondiale nel settore dei termoplastici. Celanese rilevera’ da SO.F.TER. Group l’intero portafoglio dei prodotti termoplastici ingegneristici (ETPs), gli elastomeri termoplastici (TPEs), tutti i contratti commerciali e tutte le strutture tecnologiche, produttive e commerciali.

L’acquisizione raddoppiera’ all’incirca il numero delle piattaforme globali dei prodotti Celanese nel campo dei materiali ingegneristici estendendo il modello di leadership vincente Celanese, le sue soluzioni applicative e la pipeline dei progetti. Inoltre, i moderni e sofisticati siti produttivi cosi’ come il portafoglio prodotti della SO.F.TER. Group diventeranno veicolo per ulteriore crescita, investimenti e sinergie.

La SO.F.TER. Group ha iniziato ad essere operativa nel 1980 producendo leghe polimeriche per l’industria calzaturiera. Oggi La SO.F.TER. Group comprende 550 dipendenti tra Italia, Messico, Brasile e Stati Uniti operando con 55 linee produttive dislocate nei 4 impianti in Europa e 4 nelle Americhe. Il portafoglio prodotti dei termoplastici ingegneristici e degli elastomeri termoplastici della SO.F.TER. Group include piu’ di 6.000 SKUs (codice identificativo del prodotto).

Celanese prevede di completare l’acquisizione nel quarto trimestre del 2016, in attesa delle usuali procedure di chiusura e delle approvazioni normative. Celanese e SO.F.TER. Group continueranno ad operare come business indipendenti fino a chiusura dell’operazione.
