NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Emma, a provider of best-in-class email marketing software and services, today announced the hiring of Jeff Middlesworth as the company's chief product officer. Middlesworth is the former senior director of marketing automation at Salesforce Marketing Cloud (formerly ExactTarget) and brings more than 15 years of enterprise product development experience to Emma.
Middlesworth joined ExactTarget in 2001, where he drove the expansion of their product footprint into enterprise marketing, marketing automation and cross-channel marketing. Under his product leadership, ExactTarget grew to $400 million in revenue, resulting in a successful NYSE IPO in 2012 and acquisition by Salesforce for $2.5 billion in 2013.
“I can't say enough about Jeff," said Clint Smith, CEO of Emma. "He's this incredible blend of product visionary, customer-first thinker and hands-on leader, and he brings an absolute wealth of experience to our team. And the timing is perfect, as we begin to unfold some of the most interesting product work we've ever done – and start to imagine where we can take it in the future."
The addition of Middlesworth continues the forward momentum of the Nashville-based software company, which recently added ExactTarget co-founder Peter McCormick to its board of directors and former Salesforce.com sales executive Joey Brown as vice president of sales. Jeff's hiring also comes fresh on the heels of the release of Emma Plus, an expanded platform designed to bring next-level email automation capabilities to marketing teams of all sizes, and a capital raise last year that helped Emma accelerate product efforts and staff expansion.
“What really drew me to Emma is that they have a culture of creating the absolute best experience for their clients at every level, from product design to account management and everything in between,” said Middlesworth. "I'm thrilled to start building on that experience so marketing leaders can solve bigger and bigger challenges with Emma's help."
Middlesworth joins Emma after serving as the VP of Products at Branding Brand. Prior to ExactTarget, he held software engineering positions with Mezzia, Inc. and Catalyst International and earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Purdue University.
