CPS HR Consulting to Award Second $20K Innovation Grant at Upcoming Conference

Applications Now Open for CPS HR Talent Management Innovation Grant

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--()--With the mission to further the innovation of human resources (HR) practices in the public sector, CPS HR Consulting is continuing its grant program to encourage personnel programs and initiatives in the discipline. After awarding the first $20,000 grant at the 2016 Talent Management Conference, CPS HR will offer a grant of equal amount in 2017 to a qualified applicant.

“The 2016 grant winner far exceeded our eligibility requirements,” said Jerry Greenwell, CEO of CPS HR. “We are eager to see the contributions from agencies putting their best minds toward innovation in the HR industry.”

The 2017 CPS HR Talent Management Innovation grant will be awarded to a public service agency that fosters quality, fairness, equity and solutions to organizational needs.

To be eligible for this grant, applicants must:

  • Be a government agency in the U.S.
  • Use the funds for internal staffing and expenses (not external consultants)
  • Implement a program new to the agency that links to the agency’s future goals or strategic plan
  • Have the program be results-oriented
  • Demonstrate how the funds will be used

In addition, the agency has to implement the award within eight months of receiving the grant and then publish the results of the program to enable other agencies to use it as a model. The winning agency will be recognized at the CPS HR Client Conference being held Feb. 8-10, 2017, in Napa Valley, CA.

The application proposal must be submitted by Nov. 18, 2016.
