LISLE, Ill.--()--As a second year sponsor of the 2016 Bank of America Chicago Marathon, Molex will have an interactive exhibition at the Abbott Health & Fitness Expo, October 7 and 8 at the McCormick Place Convention Center, booth 601.

Molex invites exhibition visitors to create a personalized video on an interactive green screen featuring iconic scenes from Chicago. A special exhibition “Molex through the Decades” will highlight milestone innovations — and explore how Molex has contributed to the technologies that have revolutionized healthcare and fitness devices.

“At Molex, we work with customers who develop the solutions that help professional athletes reach their full potential and inspire enthusiasts to challenge themselves to achieve better health and fitness,” said Brian Krause, vice president, global marketing and communications, Molex. “We want to give the public an insider’s look at how the technologies have evolved — and offer a fun interactive way to commemorate their Chicago Marathon experience.”

Special guest Olympian runner and American Record Holder, Deena Kastor will welcome Molex booth visitors from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 8th. Her groundbreaking performance, which earned a 2004 Olympic Bronze Medal in the Athens, Greece marathon ended a 20-year medal drought for U.S. women in the event. An eight time NCAA All-American, Deena holds national records in distances ranging from 5K to the marathon. She has qualified for 19 U.S. teams, won 18 U.S. titles and earned two Silver Medals at the World Cross-Country Championships. The inspiring film Spirit of the Marathon documented Deena’s win at the 2005 Chicago Marathon.

At least 300 Molex employees will participate in the 2016 Chicago Marathon as volunteers or athletes. That includes 200+ runners from Germany, Ireland, Japan, Netherlands, Singapore and the U.S. all representing Molex on race day. Additionally, more than 100 Molex employees are volunteering to provide water at Aid Station 6, providing support at Information Booths, and welcoming runners in the Molex Hospitality Tent near the finish line.

This year Molex established an online charitable giving program offering Team Molex runners and other employees an opportunity to select and fundraise for a favorite charity. Donations can be made through CrowdRise at www.crowdrise.com/Molex.
