LONGVIEW, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Scott Environmental Services, Inc. (Scott) was recognized on Monday by the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission (IOGCC). An honorable mention in the Chairman’s Stewardship Awards Small/Independent category was presented to Blake Scott, founder and president of the company, at an awards luncheon at the Marriott in Little Rock, Ark.
The annual IOGCC Chairman’s Stewardship Awards recognize exemplary efforts in environmental stewardship.
Based in Longview, Texas, Scott provides solid drilling waste management solutions to the oil and gas industry. The company’s patented, leading-edge technologies treat and recycle solid drilling waste for reuse as load-bearing structures and are an excellent way to reduce waste and disposal costs in drilling areas.
Scott received the award for its Pecos Project. In 2009, the company partnered with the Global Petroleum Research Institute and Texas A&M University on a pilot program to test its solidification/stabilization solutions in the Eagle Ford Shale of South Texas. The Pecos Project demonstrated that by treating the contaminated mud and cuttings with solidification and stabilization technology, the materials were able to be recycled into a durable roadway surface that was environmentally friendly, posing no pollution risk.
“The Pecos Project proved that Scott’s cutting-edge approach to solid drilling waste management supports the oil and gas industry by offering cost-effective, engineered, site-specific solutions that reduce environmental impact,” said Blake Scott. “Being recognized by the IOGCC means the regulatory community recognizes the importance and viability of the solutions we provide.”
