BRADENTON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Centerstone and community leaders will celebrate a 2,900 square-foot expansion to The Centerstone Hospital. The hospital, which provides in-patient psychiatric and mental health services for adults, has been operating at capacity, and this new addition to its psychiatric unit will allow Centerstone to serve more people in crisis and diagnose and treat more individuals with mental illness and co-occurring disorders.

Centerstone is a regional leader the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral health disorders. It has a clinical staff that specialize in complex, co-occurring conditions such as psychiatric disorders and addiction. Centerstone is skilled in assessments, crisis intervention and referrals to ensure individuals receive effective levels of care. In addition to in-patient services, the provider offers group therapy, individual and family therapy, as well as medication management to facilitate an individual’s return to the home.
It also offers Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), a method of using medication in combination with therapy to address addiction. Dr. Denis Rhyne, a psychiatrist and addiction specialist who specializes in MAT, recently joined Centerstone’s clinical team and will guide the organization’s efforts to treat co-occurring disorders.

The expansion of The Centerstone Hospital includes four new bedrooms and a dayroom and café for patients, all designed to foster a sense of comfort and peace so individuals are comfortable in their surroundings. All insurance, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, TRICARE, and commercial insurance is accepted for healthcare services. Centerstone is planning additional ways to expand access to vital mental health, including growing its psychiatric residency program to nine residents by next summer.
