Goodwin Names 15 New Partners

BOSTON--()--Goodwin, a leading Global 50 law firm, announced today that 15 lawyers have been elected to the firm’s partnership, effective October 1.

The newly elected partners are:

  • Michael J. Andrescavage (Private Equity; New York) advises on broad-based general corporate and transactional matters with particular focus on private equity transactions, representing a wide variety of private equity and venture capital funds, portfolio companies, and financial sponsors in connection with mergers and acquisitions, equity arrangements, strategic investments and financing transactions.
  • Brian Burgess (Specialty Litigation – Appellate; Washington, D.C.) focuses on appellate matters and complex civil litigation in federal courts, including the Supreme Court, and has experience in a wide range of areas including constitutional law, administrative law, intellectual property law, antitrust and financial services litigation.
  • Laurie A. Burlingame (Technology & Life Sciences; Boston) represents private and public companies across the spectrum of the life sciences industry, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics and biological materials, at all stages of their life cycle. Her practice includes corporate counseling and strategy, corporate formation and structuring, private and public securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions and other complex transactions.
  • Victoria Elman (Technology & Life Sciences; Boston) advises technology companies from formation through exit. Her practice includes formation, general corporate counseling and securities law, venture capital and growth equity financings and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Jared J. Fine (Technology & Life Sciences; Boston) advises emerging growth companies at all stages of maturity, including formation, initial funding, expansion and exit. His practice includes mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and general corporate and securities law, including company formation and strategy and venture capital and growth equity financings.
  • Patrick J. Hurley (Real Estate Industry; Boston) represents real estate investment funds, REITs, institutional investors and other owners and operators of commercial real estate in a wide variety of complex matters throughout the United States. His practice includes joint venture transactions, acquisitions, dispositions and financing across real estate asset classes, and he regularly advises real estate investment funds regarding subscription secured credit facilities.
  • Blake Liggio (Real Estate Industry; Boston) focuses on mergers and acquisitions involving public and private entities, and also advises public companies on a range of matters, including corporate governance, federal securities law compliance and securities offerings.
  • Daniel P. Margolis (IP Litigation; New York) focuses on patent litigation and client counseling, with a particular emphasis on pharmaceuticals and chemical technologies.
  • James T. Mattus (ERISA & Executive Compensation; Boston) advises a range of companies with respect to structuring equity-based and incentive compensation programs, executive compensation aspects of corporate transactions, and ERISA considerations related to various investment fund structures.
  • Caitlin L. Murray (Technology & Life Sciences; Boston) advises public and private companies across the life sciences industry, including biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Her practice includes public and private securities offerings, such as venture capital investments and public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and other complex transactions, as well as general corporate matters.
  • Qing Nian (Technology & Life Sciences; Boston) focuses her practice on corporate and securities law, representing public and private companies, venture capital and private equity firms, and investment banks in capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financings, SEC reporting, and other general corporate and securities matters.
  • Gemma Roberts (Private Equity; London) advises on private equity transactions with particular focus on the middle market and corporate mergers and acquisitions. She represents private equity and venture funds, management teams, corporates, financial institutions and entrepreneurs. Her practice spans leveraged buyouts, corporate restructurings, management incentive schemes, as well as general corporate matters and portfolio work.
  • Alessandra L. Simons (Technology & Life Sciences; San Francisco) specializes in advising public and private technology companies and venture capital investors in buy and sell-side mergers and acquisitions.
  • W. Kyle Tayman (Financial Industry Practice; Washington, D.C.) concentrates his practice on representing and defending banks and financial institutions in government investigations and enforcement actions, False Claims Act litigation, consumer class actions and complex litigation.
  • E. Abim Thomas (Securities Litigation & White Collar Defense; Boston) concentrates her practice on government and internal investigations, white collar criminal defense, and False Claims Act litigation. She also represents government agencies, private and publicly traded companies, and nonprofits on matters involving conflict of interest laws, public records law, open meeting law, lobbying, and campaign finance and represents operating companies, entrepreneurs and investors in the gaming and gambling field.
