FirstBank’s “90 Seconds to Success” Business Video Contest Returns (Video: Business Wire)

LAKEWOOD, Colo.--()--FirstBank, Colorado’s second largest bank and one of the nation’s largest privately held banks, announced the return of its popular business video competition. Renamed “90 Seconds to Success,” the contest will award two companies—one in Colorado and one in Arizona—$20,000 each. Runners-up in both states will receive $2,500.

Business owners can enter from October 3-21 by submitting a 90-second video (MOV, WMV or MP4 format) explaining how the money will be used to accelerate their business. Videos will be judged 20 percent on originality, 30 percent on creativity and 50 percent on content. Five finalists in Colorado and Arizona will be selected by November 11. The winners will be determined by popular vote on FirstBank’s Facebook page from November 7-13 and announced on November 14.

“The number of responses and effort put into these video submissions blew us away and showed the strong determination these business owners have,” said John Ikard, CEO of FirstBank. “As a community bank, it’s important we support businesses that play a key role in job creation and economic development. This contest is just one way we help local companies grow.”

In 2015, Fox Hollow Animal Hospital in Lakewood was selected as the winner in Colorado out of more than 500 submissions. The family-owned business used the $20,000 prize to buy new, state-of-the-art equipment and help expand their facility to improve the quality of care they provide animals.

“The prize money arrived just at the right time because we were expanding our facility and really needed equipment,” said Dr. Tony Henderson, founder of Fox Hollow Animal Hospital. “FirstBank is just first-class and they really go out of their way to help. And you can bring your dog into the bank while you’re making a transaction, which is pretty awesome.”

FirstBank has a long history of supporting local businesses with innovative contests, promotions and advertising campaigns, in addition to offering a wide-range of competitive business-banking products and services. Additionally, FirstBank is a major supporter of nonprofits in areas where its employees live and work. The bank contributed nearly $5 million to charities in Colorado, Arizona and California last year.
