Electronic Recyclers International Featured on ‘Reuse and Repair’ Panel at E-Scrap 2016

NEW ORLEANS--()--Tyler Shegerian, Assistant Director of Asset Recovery for Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste, talked about how critical reuse is as part of the recycling economy, earlier today at the E-Scrap 2016 Conference in New Orleans.

ERI was invited to participate as part of a panel titled “Rising Revenues in Reuse and Repair.” Shegerian was joined on the panel by Willie Cade of PC Builders & Recyclers and Joe Morrow of Belmont Trading. The discussion was led and moderated by Kyle Wiens of iFixit.

The panel shared insights on the fact that because consumer electronics are getting smaller, the profit margins of companies that are just looking for the value in e-scrap commodity streams can also struggle. Shegerian and his co-panelists offered the audience of industry professionals tips and tools to help e-scrap entities of all sizes fix the incoming material stream to help increase profits.

“We are extremely proud to have been asked by our friends at E-Scrap and iFixit to participate in this important conference and to have our own Tyler Shegerian sitting alongside Kyle, Willie and Joe for this important discussion,” said John Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of ERI. "It’s key that we as an industry focus on the various ways we can move forward as the manufacturing side continues to evolve. And each step of the way, we must never lose sight of the importance of environmental responsibility and the protection and security of digital data.”

A leading industry event, E-Scrap annually hosts more than 1,200 attendees from more than 35 countries. This year’s conference, entering its 14th year, offered a bustling exhibit hall, tear-down demos, a series of presentations, sessions and Q and A’s featuring leading industry executives and associations.

Shegerian also noted that ERI currently provides the only dually certified nationwide solution for electronic waste recycling and recovery, servicing customers in all 50 states.
