CALGARY, Alberta--()--On July 14, 2016, in a single Calgary Stampede afternoon, $45,000 was raised for the Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta at the Tundra Process Solutions’ Annual Stampede Fundraiser. Despite the economic downturn and the hit to the oil and gas sector over the past year, Calgarians opened their hearts, and their wallets to come together and support Kids Cancer Care.

Historically, the Calgary Stampede has seen significant corporate participation. While the downturn resulted in decreased participation this year, Tundra welcomed over 1,500 clients and suppliers through its doors for an afternoon of live music, food and networking for a great cause.

“Kids Cancer Care is an organization that is dear to our hearts. When hosting an event, we try to incorporate a fundraising element. Tundra’s Calgary Stampede-themed fundraiser is our biggest and most elaborate event and we really wanted to use this opportunity to raise as much money and awareness as possible”, says Iggy Domagalski, CEO, Tundra Process Solutions.

To help facilitate fundraising efforts, Kids Cancer Care representatives were also on hand at the event: “What people don’t realize is that during these difficult times, Kids Cancer Care relies more heavily on donations to keep our programs operational”, says Christine McIver, Founder and CEO of Kids Cancer Care. “We’re so grateful for Tundra’s ongoing support and to all their staff and corporate clients who did the near-impossible by raising so much for us in one of the hardest hit years in Calgary’s history. And by hardest hit, I mean by recession and rain.”

Tundra Process Solutions will be matching all charitable donations from the event: “Giving back is a part of the Tundra culture. The community supports us, and we in turn support the community. It’s who we are as a company”, says Domagalski, adding, “each year we try to raise the bar at our fundraiser - we are asking our guests to be a part of this and this year everyone pulled through to raise over $22,500, which Tundra will be matching for the kids”.
