Solving the Mobile Content Distribution & Monetization Challenge

PadSquad Integration with RebelMouse Allows Publishers to Utilize Social Content Distribution & Premium Mobile Advertising

NEW YORK--()--PadSquad, a leading mobile software company that combines premium mobile user experiences with a mobile advertising marketplace, and RebelMouse, the first publishing platform built and optimized for social media distribution, announced jointly today their partnership focused on mobile content distribution and premium mobile monetization for publishers.

Content publishers are existing in an ever more mobile-first and socially distributed marketplace. Once publishers are able to find the right audiences for their content, chances are those consumers are using a mobile device, and then the challenge becomes how to monetize those experiences on smaller screens.

This is exactly the challenge that RebelMouse and PadSquad have teamed to solve for influential content brands: combining a best of breed content management and distribution solution with premium and polite mobile advertising.

As the first Distributed Content Management System (DCMS), RebelMouse allows digital publishers to focus on creating content in multiple formats (articles, posts, videos, GIFs, etc), all of which are optimized to render beautifully and perform well across all devices, distribution platforms, and social networks. The integration of PadSquad’s unique SuperDIV mobile ad technology into the RebelMouse DCMS allows publishers to rotate unique mobile ad formats that are natively designed for maximum user engagement.

An example of influential publishers who’ve adopted the combined RebelMouse and PadSquad mobile solution include entertainment, country music and lifestyle brand OneCountry Media.

Lela Davidson, Vice President / General Manager at One Country Media, says the combination has virtually transformed their mobile business. “Eight months ago, we were using an outdated, legacy CMS with a poor user experience on mobile, due in part to intrusive and slow-loading ad units. Since migrating to the RebelMouse Roar solution, with PadSquad’s unique mobile ad formats integrated, we’ve doubled programmatic revenue on mobile traffic.”

Working closely together, RebelMouse’s and PadSquad’s engineering teams devised a dynamic ad placement that is integrated inline at natural breakpoints in the mobile content. Mobile-only, responsive ad formats that are designed and developed by PadSquad are then delivered onto the mobile page. The ad placements reveal themselves in polite ways, delivering a rich experience for the advertiser’s message, without overlaying and blocking content. This is important, as recent IAB research shows consumers prefer PadSquad polite advertising formats significantly more than expandable mobile banners.

“Social can no longer be an afterthought for savvy publishers, and today social content worth sharing is most often viewed on mobile devices,” comments Tony Christensen, Director of Monetization Strategy at RebelMouse. “We empower our clients with analytics and tools for growth, believing strongly that advertising on their pages should add value to the editorial experience. Having PadSquad’s hand-crafted mobile formats integrated into our DCMS is an effective combination for publishers, advertisers, and, most importantly, consumers.”

As publishers evolve to a mobile-first marketplace, they are quickly realizing simply plugging in their existing tech stack from desktop is not a viable solution. Mobile consumers demand an optimized user experience, and are challenging savvy publishers to respond. To help in this transition, the IAB Tech Lab has released the LEAN Ads program, guidelines for publishers to provide a safe, usable experience for anyone and everyone wanting to consume the content of their choice digitally. That’s only part of the equation though.

Connecting a CMS technology closely to its mobile monetization technology, similar to the RebelMouse and PadSquad integration, is something publishers should start to consider. “Instead of potentially chasing integrations with the latest platform offer that you don’t have any control over, such as Facebook’s Instant Articles, Apple News, Google’s AMP, we think savvy publishers should invest in their existing CMS and mobile stack first,” says Daniel Meehan, CEO of PadSquad. “Great new technology, like RebelMouse, exists in the market and can inform a publisher’s entire content distribution strategy. Paired with world-class mobile ad formats and monetization, there is a huge upside for publishers to grow.”
