Ron Mester Joins Brightfield Strategies as Chief Executive Officer

NEW YORK--()--Brightfield Strategies, an independent workforce consultancy and data modeling provider announced today that workforce strategy innovator and executive Ron Mester has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer.

“Ron is as intuitive as he is intellectual and we are thrilled to have him aboard. Ron has long been a mentor and confidant,” said Jason Ezratty, Brightfield’s co-founder who will remain its President and Chairman. “We’ve been looking for someone like Ron to serve as our CEO, requiring the right mix of integrity, experience, curiosity, and zeal for talent strategy and data.“

Mester joins Brightfield at an exciting time, as the company just recently received a strategic growth investment this past May from industry visionary Gary Nelson to support the rollout of Talent Data Exchange, a workforce analytics platform that mines transactional talent data to scientifically establish market benchmarks and predictive models. Founded by Jason Ezratty and Christopher Minnick, Brightfield has enjoyed a series of successes over the past decade as a trusted workforce advisor to Global 500 companies, and a close partner with the leading workforce analyst firms and talent solution providers. Ron’s experience and drive will help accelerate the company’s innovation and continued growth.

“We couldn’t be more honored to have Ron join the Brightfield family. Our relationship dates back to Brightfield’s inception in 1996 when, as our first client, he hired us to help augment Staffing Industry Analysts’ buyer-focused products, including contingent workforce program models and methodologies,” said Minnick, Executive Vice President. “We spent significant time and energy searching for the right chief executive and it was clear that Ron was the perfect person for the job. Our mutual respect and trust has only grown stronger over the years, and we are thrilled to have Ron lead Brightfield as we experience such explosive growth.”

Mester commented, “I look forward to joining Brightfield at this point in its journey. I couldn’t be more pleased to join a company that has built its foundation on integrity, intelligent people and truly one of the most advanced Big Data technologies designed for workforce executives and solution providers.”

Mester brings more than 20 years of workforce industry experience, having served four years as President & CEO of ERE Media, Inc, the pre-eminent source of information for talent acquisition and HR professionals, eight years as President & CEO of Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA), where he transformed the company into the premier research and analysis firm covering the contingent workforce space, and 11 years with Towers Perrin (now Willis Towers Watson), where he advised Fortune 1000 companies in more than a dozen industries on human capital strategy, organizational effectiveness, and overall business strategy. He also served as an executive at two venture-backed startups in the business intelligence space and earned a patent for Zoomerang, which became one of the world’s top online survey tools before being acquired by SurveyMonkey in 2012.

Mester will divide his time between the Bay Area and Brightfield’s New York, Minneapolis, and London operations. His appointment is effective August 1, 2016.
