NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sheridan, the Physician Services division of AMSURG Corp. (NASDAQ:AMSG), today announced the acquisition of AllegiantMD, Inc. and certain affiliated entities. AllegiantMD is the leading provider of onsite and remote-read subspecialized radiology services in the Tampa, Florida, market. AllegiantMD employs 43 radiologists serving 18 facilities, with the majority of its services provided to Hospital Corporation of America and Community Health Systems acute care hospitals.

AllegiantMD will join Sheridan’s existing roster of over 300 Fellowship Trained, Board Certified radiologists, who cover 150 facilities across 22 states. The combination will account for almost six million radiology interpretations on an annualized basis, primarily delivered through exclusive contracts with hospitals and imaging centers. Sheridan radiologists cover all subspecialty designations with 100% U.S.-based providers and offer 24/7/365 radiology-read capabilities.
