SynerMed Groups Score 5-Star Elite Status Rating in CAPG’s National Standards of Excellence Survey

LOS ANGELES--()--SynerMed, a market-leading healthcare organization specializing in government-sponsored healthcare programs, scored top honors again in this year’s California Association of Physician Groups’ (CAPG) Standards of Excellence survey when its medical groups—EHS Medical Group, Inland Valleys IPA, Crown City Medical Group, Alpha Care Medical Group, Angeles IPA and MultiCultural Medical Group—all walked away with five-star “Elite Status” ratings.

CAPG’s Standards of Excellence survey is a voluntary survey offered to over 250 medical groups in 40 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. It is considered to be the industry standard for measuring how well-equipped medical groups are in improving patient experience, delivering affordable care and managing population health.

CAPG uses six categories, or domains, to gauge medical group performance:

Domain 1—Care Management Practices: Clinical system supports for quality and efficiency on a popular scale.

Domain 2—Information Technology: Funnel for accurate, actionable information to support clinical decisions and coordinate team care.

Domain 3—Accountability and Transparency: Response to the public demand for objective information regarding performance, patient service and regulatory compliance.

Domain 4—Patient-Centered Care: Critical components of access, convenience, cultural responsiveness and customized individual care.

Domain 5—Group Support of Advanced Primary Care: Patient-centered medical home model and how it’s used to revitalize the discipline of primary care.

Domain 6—Administrative and Financial Capability: Management of complex relationships, diverse revenue streams, innovative payment alignment, and risk-based payments.

Out of these six categories, only the first five are publicly reported. Elite Status is the highest rating achievable on CAPG’s grading scale.

“I’m extremely proud of the performance of all of our medical groups,” said James Mason, SynerMed President and Chief Executive Officer. “This year’s SOE ratings shows SynerMed’s commitment to providing quality care has not wavered over the years. Our approach to population health management demonstrates that whole-person care is the key to any healthcare system’s success. We will continue to focus our efforts on the sickest patients and those that are most vulnerable in our society.”
