Iteris Introduces New ClearAg Insights Custom Mobile App Service for Agriculture

Service Enables Mobile Access to Uniquely Relevant Weather, Water, Soil and Crop Growth Information

SANTA ANA, Calif.--()--Iteris, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITI), the global leader in applied informatics for transportation and agriculture, today announced the launch of ClearAg® Insights, a new service that delivers targeted-purpose mobile apps to growers, agronomists and other agribusiness field staff for site-specific diagnostics, determination of recommended actions, and post-event analysis to optimize crop yield and agricultural sustainability.

ClearAg Insights custom mobile apps can help inform the decision-making processes of key staff as they identify the optimal windows for crop planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest and weed abatement, and harvesting, within the context of economics, weather, soil and crop growth conditions.

“ClearAg Insights enables seed and crop protection companies, retailers and applicators to adapt their specific nutrient, biological and chemical applications in accordance to product label information and the environmental conditions,” said Tom Blair, senior vice president of performance analytics at Iteris. “Combined with ClearAg’s precision weather, water, soil and crop growth information, this service helps growers and agribusinesses alike make accurate, informed decisions in the field and during their chemical application process. Using targeted-purpose ClearAg Insights applications, users can optimize the impact of resources they use in their fields and on their crops.”

ClearAg Insights apps are powered by Iteris’ EMPower™ Platform—an adaptive forecasting engine for precision farming that combines weather and agronomic data with machine learning technology. As the EMPower Engine learns about a grower’s farm, fields and field applications through their use of the ClearAg Service, its adaptive engine recalibrates to provide the most precise and relevant data for specific field operations. As real-time weather events appear in the forecast, the ClearAg Service provides actionable insights, enabling real-time decisions in context to current, forecasted and historical conditions.

“We continue to be impressed with the delivery of innovative new technology coming from Iteris,” said Dr. Eric Johnson, vice president of technology at Valent U.S.A. Corporation. “We look forward to exploring applications of the new ClearAg Insights service to enhance our data intelligence. In a market where there is no shortage of data, the ClearAg platform will aid us in translating data into relevant insights.”

The new ClearAg Insights mobile development service is the latest in a suite of ClearAg offerings from Iteris that include the recently launched ClearAg Mobile for iOS, which is available now in the Apple App Store.
