LAKEWOOD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FirstBank Holding Company, the holding company for Colorado’s second largest bank, announced that William “Bill” Johnson has voluntarily resigned from his role as Chairman of the Board. Johnson is being succeeded by longtime board member and Co-Chairman Larry Hauserman.
Johnson, the only surviving founder of FirstBank and partner of law firm Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP (formerly known as Rothgerber, Johnson and Lyons), is remaining on the board as a director. Hauserman’s appointment as Chairman is effective immediately.
“I’m extremely proud of what’s been accomplished in the years I’ve been chairing the company,” said Johnson. “After four decades, it’s the right time to hand over the reins and officially step down. I’m confident Larry will make a great Chairman and help this organization effectively grow.”
Hauserman has been a part of the bank since 1966 and was named CEO of FirstBank Holding Company from 1983 to 1992. He joined the board of directors as Co-Chairman in 1992.
“We are incredibly grateful for Bill’s leadership and advice over the years. He’s helped FirstBank successfully navigate through numerous economic downturns and a rapidly changing banking environment,” said John Ikard, CEO of FirstBank Holding Company. “We know Larry will make an outstanding Chairman and assist our executive leaders in driving a high-performing and customer oriented institution forward.”
