Valmie Resources’ AeroLift eXpress Joins Influential Speakers for Annual Disaster Conference at University of Houston

HOUSTON--()--Valmie Resources Inc. (VMRI) is pleased to announce its joint venture partner – AeroLift eXpress – has been invited to be a guest speaker at this year’s Hurricanes, Major Disasters, Coastal Protection, and Rapid Recovery Conference at the University of Houston. The major annual event is sponsored by the Texas Hurricane Center for Innovative Technology and members of the University of Houston Civil, Environmental and Industrial Engineering Departments.

The conference, which is scheduled to take place on August 15, 2016, is presented to update the public, emergency managers and others who play a critical role in hurricane and other disaster preparedness roles. Presentations include preparedness, loss mitigation, evacuation, coastal protection, transportation issues, rapid recovery and new technologies that could influence daily municipal operations.

“We are enthusiastic to speak alongside well-known and influential presenters, and have an opportunity to network with emergency managers, engineers, scientists and educators,” said James Stafford, AeroLift eXpress CEO and Founder.

AeroLift’s presentation will include descriptions of its military grade unmanned aerial systems (UAS) technology and the significant advantages that it offers over manned aircraft and during the critical hours following a hurricane strike or other disaster. Stafford added that AeroLift’s UAS technology could operate in any conditions where a manned aircraft can fly, at a fraction of the cost and with no risk to human life.

According to the City of Houston Office of Emergency Management, the city’s location along the Gulf Coast in combination with its status as one of the nation’s industrial centers leaves it vulnerable to many natural and human-caused hazards.

“Working together, we can meet the challenge of quick recovery from a disaster,” said Gerald B. Hammack, President and CEO of Valmie Resources. “We are very pleased to add our information to that of the experts at the conference, and hope Houstonians will take the threat of disasters seriously by getting and staying prepared.”
