Short biographies of the new members of the SAB follow:

Professor Susumu Kitagawa is currently Director of the Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences (iCeMS) at Kyoto University, an initiative launched by the Japanese Government in 2007. His current research interests, for which he has won numerous awards, are focused on the synthesis and properties of porous coordination polymers/metal-organic frameworks.

Professor Martin Schröder is Vice President and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences and Professor of Chemistry. He is an expert in materials chemistry applied to energy research, and leads a programme of research in the development of porous metal organic frameworks (MOFs) for a variety of applications. He has published over 470 reviews, papers and patents and has won many awards for his research.

Professor Mike Zaworotko is the Bernal Chair of Crystal Engineering & Science Foundation of Ireland Research Professor at the University of Limerick, Ireland. Currently, his research interests focus on metal-organic materials (MOMs), especially microporous and ultramicroporous sorbents. He has a publication list of over 350 papers and patents.

Dr Barry Murrer is a distinguished industrial scientist having recently completed a 35-year career at the FTSE-100 company Johnson Matthey in the UK.
