Wavelink Brings Voice to Velocity with Speakeasy, Completes Suite of Mobile Enablement for Android

  • Velocity with Speakeasy Provides Path Forward for Voice on Android
  • Organizations Can Voice-Enable Supply Chain Beyond Picking, Boost Productivity and Accuracy in Warehouse Operations

SALT LAKE CITY--()--Wavelink today announced Speakeasy support on the Velocity platform, bringing voice to modernized terminal emulation and web-based applications on the Android operating system. Adding voice capabilities solidifies Android as a viable next-generation mobility solution, complete with the full suite of mobile enablement to accompany a hardware refresh.

Building on Wavelink’s existing Velocity platform, Speakeasy empowers customers to maximize productivity with voice enablement as they run modernized mobile applications on the latest generation of Android mobile devices. As a result, warehouses are able to upgrade from older devices and fully leverage the touchscreen experience offered by Android’s mobile computers without being restricted by the availability of productivity software.

“Adding voice to Velocity is central to our strategy of accelerating productivity and bringing comprehensive mobile enablement to the Android platform,” said Steve Bemis, vice president, mobile productivity at Wavelink. “With the addition of voice via Speakeasy support, any previous hesitations or objections about adopting Android in the warehouse are significantly reduced, or eliminated altogether.”

By combining Velocity and Speakeasy, Wavelink supply chain and operations customers can take advantage of the following:

Voice-Enable New Android Rugged Mobile Devices. Customers can add voice to the latest Android devices and never have to worry about being restricted by productivity software. Velocity brings complete mobile enablement to the Android platform.

Boost Worker Productivity and Accuracy. Speakeasy customers have already realized significant productivity benefits. While individual results may vary based on each customer’s unique environment, Toshiba recorded more than $500,000 in annual savings and achieved ROI in less than three months. Other customers have reported productivity gains of 25 percent or more, and accuracy achievements worthy of Lean Six Sigma certification. Coupled with Velocity, customers have the opportunity to achieve significant productivity and efficiency gains.

Deploy Voice for Picking and More. Velocity with Speakeasy support streamlines business operations by extending voice picking features, and the accompanying productivity benefits, to a variety of warehouse tasks – from receiving and cycle counting to truck loading and put away.

Pricing and Availability

Speakeasy support on Velocity for the Android operating system will be available to commercial users and enterprises in summer 2016. Pricing will be determined at that time.
