LightCyber Demonstrates Behavioral Attack Detection at Gartner Security & Risk Summit 2016

Signature-less and Agentless Solution Finds Active Attackers Quickly with Low Number of Actionable Security Alerts to Curtail a Data Breach

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md.--()--Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit 2016 – LightCyber, a leading provider of Behavioral Attack Detection solutions, today announced that it is a Silver sponsor of the Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit 2016 and will be exhibiting there, demonstrating its Magna platform for detecting active network attackers that have circumvented preventative security. Currently most enterprises lack the ability to quickly find an active attacker and curtail a potential data breach.

LightCyber will conduct demonstrations and discussions in booth 1117. Attendees can also win tickets to the invitation-only evening boat excursion on the Potomac River.

The LightCyber Magna platform uses behavioral profiling to learn what is normal on the network and endpoints, and thereby detect anomalous attacker behaviors that are by necessity required to perpetrate a successful breach or conduct malicious goals, including command and control, reconnaissance, lateral movement and data exfiltration. These behaviors can be identified early to reduce attacker dwell time and curtail the activity. At the same time, Magna can identify harmful activity from insiders—rogue or unaware employees or contractors—that is either intentionally malicious or unknowingly dangerous. Magna presents a small number of actionable alerts with supporting contextual and investigative details to greatly enhance the efficiency of a security operations team in its detection and remediation operations.

“Security professionals are often astonished when they witness that they can precisely uncover the operational activities of an active attacker on their network that would otherwise be invisible,” said David Thompson, senior director of product management, LightCyber. “We look forward to showing exactly how companies can turn the tables on a would-be data breach.”
