Grant Thornton adds seasoned advisor to Manufacturing industry practice

Former Sealed Air CEO William Hickey named senior Manufacturing advisor to enhance manufacturing industry consulting capabilities

CHICAGO--()--William Hickey, retired chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Sealed Air Corp., a global manufacturing and marketing company, has been named a senior Manufacturing advisor in Grant Thornton LLP’s Manufacturing industry practice. Hickey will support the firm’s Manufacturing industry practice throughout the United States.

“Bill is a former chief executive who rose to that position after many years in manufacturing, finance and accounting roles,” said Jeff French, Manufacturing industry practice leader at Grant Thornton. “Bill has a strong understanding of our business, as well as manufacturing. Most recently, Hickey served as chairman and CEO of Sealed Air for nearly 15 years. Prior to his appointment as president and CEO in 2000, Hickey served in a variety of executive positions at the company, including chief operating officer, executive vice president, chief financial officer, and vice president and general manager of the Cellu Products division and the Food Packaging division. Prior to joining Sealed Air, Hickey spent six years at W.R. Grace & Co. where he held a variety of management positions in both the Consumer Products and the Industrial Chemical groups of Grace, including vice president finance of the Pacific-Latin American division.

Hickey received a master’s of business administration degree in finance and international business from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the United States Naval Academy. He also served as a U.S. Naval Officer.
