LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tribute Portfolio, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (NYSE:HOT), and Pitchfork, the most trusted voice in music, today announced the second installment of their digital radio pop-up series, Pitchfork Radio, spotlighting both emerging artists and established pioneers who apply a true independent mindset to their musical craft. Having kicked the series off in Palm Springs at Coachella Music Festival, Tribute Portfolio and Pitchfork now land in London with another special edition of Pitchfork’s popular Pitchfork Radio, broadcasting live June 10-12 from the Great Northern Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, during Field Day Festival. With a stacked line-up of guest DJs once again, music fans can tune in live or through Pitchfork.com to hear top acts, including The National, The Smiths’ Andy Rourke, Daniel Ash of Bauhaus, Riz MC, Little Simz, Gang of Four, Super Furry Animals, and Lorna Simpson, amongst many others.
“London has long been a center for independent music, cultivating talent who bring their unique vision to the world. Field Day is an iconic festival that features artists who embody our brand’s indie spirit, so it only made sense for our next spotlight to shine on this global musical event,” said Dave Marr, Global Brand Leader for Tribute Portfolio. “With our partner Pitchfork, one of the most trusted voices in music, we will continue to provide music fans, guests and our Starwood Preferred Guest® members exclusive access to renowned music events such as this one, enabling them to Stay Independent.”
Coming to You Live from London
Having debuted in 2015, Pitchfork Radio is a streaming, free form, live Internet radio station programmed with exclusive interviews, intimate live performances, deep cuts from rare vinyl collections and a playlist curated by Pitchfork’s influential music editors. Making a cameo during Field Day Festival, Pitchfork Radio will be broadcasting live Friday, June 10th to Sunday, June 12th 11am-5pm from the GNH Bar at the Great Northern Hotel, featuring both live appearences and pre-recorded sessions from The National, Daniel Miller of MUTE Records, Super Furry Animals, Battles, Daniel Ash of Bauhaus, The Smiths’ Andy Rourke, Lorna Simpson, The Wedding Present’s David Gedge tribute to John Peel and more.
In addition to the pop-up, Tribute Portfolio and Pitchfork will host an exclusive Crossfade Tea Cocktail Party on Saturday, June 11 at the GNH Bar, during which guests and festival-goers can enjoy a boozy version of the traditional London afternoon tea with Pitchfork Radio as the backdrop.
