WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Accenture (NYSE:ACN) has received the Covenant House Washington 2016 Dove Award for its work helping to create a brighter future for some of the District’s most vulnerable young people. The award was presented last night at Covenant House’s annual Night of the Stars Gala.
The Dove Award honors an organization that has made a significant contribution toward transforming the lives of homeless, exploited and disconnected youth in the greater Washington, DC region. Covenant House helps to protect, serve and develop young adults ages 16 years old to 24 years old by offering a wide variety of services including job readiness training so young adults can become economically stable, self-sufficient and live a life off the streets.
Accenture has a multifaceted national partnership with the Covenant House that is supported by grant funding, pro bono and employee contributions and local board engagement. Last fall, an Accenture team helped Covenant House develop and roll out a job readiness program for youth across the region.
The Job Readiness Program for Covenant House that is supported by Accenture provides an opportunity for youth to gain critical career skills through skills training, career coaching and experiential learning. The curriculum includes 29 hours of classroom and web-based professional skills training. Accenture also is providing volunteers to serve as facilitators and guest speakers to support the program.

The partnership with Covenant House is part of Accenture’s corporate citizenship initiative, Skills to Succeed, which is equipping more than 3 million people around the world with the skills to find a job or build a business.
