According to Verizon’s 2016 Data Breach Investigations Report, in ninety-percent of cases it took attackers minutes or less to compromise systems. However, eighty-three percent of victims went weeks before detecting breaches. It’s imperative for organisations to respond quickly after detecting malicious indicators of compromise to minimise any potential damage. In his presentation Edon will share practical strategies security professionals can utilize to effectively recover from security incidents, regardless of their industries. Sweet Security: Building a Defensive Raspberry Pi

The Internet of Things (IoT) adds critical new endpoints that enterprises should be monitoring and protecting. Numerous IoT devices are shipped with out-of-date operating systems and often un-maintained code, which can be littered with vulnerabilities. In addition, traditional security tools cannot be installed on many of these devices. In this presentation Smith will demonstrate how open source and other free tools can monitor, protect and mitigate threats to IoT environments. He will also discuss how all of these tools and methodologies can be deployed on inexpensive hardware, such as the Raspberry Pi.
