Barnes & Noble First to Offer the “Make: Getting Started with Science Journal Kit” at Maker Faire Bay Area in San Mateo, CA, May 20-22

Innovative STEM Kit, Compatible with Google’s Science Journal, Also Available to Customers Nationwide on BN.com Beginning May 30

NEW YORK--()--Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE:BKS), the nation’s largest retail bookseller and a leading retailer of content, digital media and educational products, today announced that it is the first retailer to offer a brand new Science Journal Kit developed by Make: working with Google at Barnes & Noble’s Pop-Up Shop at Maker Faire Bay Area in San Mateo, CA, taking place May 20-22. The Make: Getting Started with Science Journal Kit is also available to Barnes & Noble customers nationwide online at BN.com starting May 30. The kit includes supplies for Makers to build and measure their own wind spinners using the Science Journal Android app. The app allows users to record data from sensors on their Android phones and Arduino board, takes notes, and learn scientific processes like predicting, observing and interpreting data.
