Time Inc. Hires MaryAnn Bekkedahl as President, Fashion & Luxury, Promotes Charlie Kammerer to President, Lifestyle

NEW YORK--()--Time Inc. (NYSE:TIME) Executive Vice President Evelyn Webster today appointed MaryAnn Bekkedahl to President, Fashion & Luxury and promoted Charlie Kammerer to President, Lifestyle. Bekkedahl, who joins the company from e-commerce and ad-tech startup Keep Holdings, will begin June 1. Kammerer, formerly Group Publisher, takes on his new role immediately.

Reporting to Webster, Bekkedahl will oversee InStyle, StyleWatch, Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure and Departures. Kammerer’s portfolio will include Real Simple, Cozi, Cooking Light, MyRecipes, Health, Sunset and Coastal Living. Time, Fortune, Money, Essence and Southern Living will continue to report directly to Webster.

In these new roles, Bekkedahl and Kammerer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of their respective brands’ development. They will drive revenue diversification, digital and video growth and expand new products and services, in addition to managing the core business. The editor and publisher of each brand will now report to their President.

This new structure will enable us to significantly accelerate many of the activities we have underway across our portfolio as we transform our business,” said Webster. “MaryAnn and Charlie are talented, proven leaders who will unlock the incredible potential of our brands and the audiences they serve.”

In 2010, Bekkedahl co-founded Keep Holdings, a leader in developing innovative products that serve marketers and their audiences. Its first product was AdKeeper, an ad-tech solution designed to let consumers decide when and where to interact with digital advertising. The product evolved into the Keep Shopping app, a next-gen shopping experience for millennial women. Bekkedahl previously spent 17 years at Rodale, Inc., where she held numerous leadership positions, including six years as EVP, Group Publisher. Her role included oversight of Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Prevention and Runner’s World, as well as the company’s event and custom content divisions. In addition, she developed licensed products across the portfolio and led the team that launched Men’s Health into 39 global markets. In 2009 Bekkedahl was named Publishing Executive of the Year by MediaWeek.

Kammerer has served as Group Publisher of Real Simple, Food & Wine, Cooking Light, My Recipes and Health since May 2015. In this role, his brands have grown significantly in audience and digital traffic. Under his watch, licensed revenue has grown considerably through new partnerships with Wayfair, Fresh Realm and 1-800 Flowers, in addition to an existing relationship with Bed Bath and Beyond, which has grown to more than 1,000 skus. Kammerer has also driven new revenue generating platforms and activations for the Real Simple brand, including Beauty and Balance, Pops at Nantucket, Women and Success, and popular weekly podcasts. He developed e-commerce at Real Simple into one of the most robust programs at Time Inc., and he played a critical role in the company’s acquisition of Cozi and divestiture of This Old House. Kammerer served as Publisher of This Old House from 2008 to 2012; Publisher of Real Simple from 2012 to 2014; and Group Publisher of Real Simple and This Old House from 2014 to 2015.
