Sysorex to Debut AirPatrol for Retail Properties at Global Shopping Center Convention Next Week

Unified real-time location platform uses Wi-Fi, cellular and Bluetooth devices to provide malls and shopping centers with unprecedented detail and insight into visitor behavior to drive business decisions

PALO ALTO, Calif.--()--Sysorex (NASDAQ:SYRX), a developer of high performance analytics software and solutions, today announced it will debut AirPatrol for Retail Properties in Las Vegas next week in conjunction with RECon 2016, the global convention for the shopping center industry. In development for over three years, AirPatrol for Retail Properties is a unified real-time location solution (uRTLS) that provides mall property owners with highly detailed foot traffic and flow data from nearly every individual who passes through their properties. It is the first technology to use “pings” from multiple mobile device radio signals to accurately observe how shoppers move around and behave in malls and shopping centers. Property owners can use the visitor location and journey data to more effectively manage mall operations and maximize marketing and lease revenues.

“With AirPatrol for Retail Properties, we are removing guesswork when it comes to accurate foot fall counts, dwell time and other data that captures the shopper’s journey inside a mall,” said Nadir Ali, CEO of Sysorex. “For most mall or retail property owners, proximity and Wi-Fi are not good enough because they do not capture all of the potential devices or persons in the facility and don’t provide the accuracy needed. Our technology provides customers with the complete picture because we detect and locate all types of devices – cellular, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth regardless of manufacturer. Sysorex is able to identify all the devices and deliver a true location, providing accurate traffic data with unprecedented granularity and deep insights that mall owners can use to make informed business decisions.”

Sysorex’ proprietary technology combines radio signals from each device to effectively and anonymously identify an individual while eliminating common errors of data duplication and counting equipment and objects as foot traffic. As a result, mall property owners have a more complete and highly detailed picture of how many shoppers visit the mall, how they circulate around the mall, how long they stay, and what stores and attractions within the mall are grabbing their attention.

Ali added, “Our goal is to give brick and mortar companies like mall operators the analytics and insights that their online counterparts have had for years, and keep their buildings full of happy tenants and shoppers. This is possible by using data captured from AirPatrol for improving mall shopping environments, accurately measuring effectiveness of marketing activities and maximizing the opportunity to sell space and keep rental returns.”

From an operations and marketing standpoint, AirPatrol for Retail Properties can help:

  • Validate capital expenditure projects;
  • Manage congestion and choke points;
  • Deploy staff when and where needed;
  • Reduce insurance premiums;
  • Understand what marketing activities are contributing to footfall and loyalty;
  • Measure marketing event and promotions across KPIs; and
  • Justify media board and advertising rates.

“Mall operators around the world suffer from the same struggles; how do they attract shoppers to their malls and keep them there,” said Ali. “We gather unprecedented data about visitors within a mall without gathering any personal identifiable information. Our technology is working at beta sites in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East, and we are excited to now make it available to retail property owners worldwide.”

Sysorex will be providing demos of AirPatrol in Las Vegas during RECon 2016. To schedule a demo, please visit http://sysorex.com/recon2016 or contact Sage Osterfeld at (760) 593-7243.
