Comcast, State of Colorado and City of Fort Collins Announce 600 New Jobs, State-of-the-Art Customer Support Center Coming to Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS, Colo.--()--As part of its ongoing commitment to provide an outstanding customer experience, Comcast today announced plans to open a major, new customer support center in Fort Collins, CO.

Comcast will hire 600 new employees who will provide technical product and service support to Comcast residential customers. In addition, there will be a number of leadership and support positions hired to run the day-to-day operations of the new call center.

The state-of-the-art, 80,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to open within a year after significant upgrades to a large facility on the Hewlett Packard campus at 3420 East Harmony Rd.

With the addition of the customer support center, Comcast will have more than 8,000 employees across the state, including more than 700 in Northern Colorado.

Today’s announcement underscores Comcast’s continuing investment in Colorado. Since 1996, Comcast has invested more than $7 billion in its technology infrastructure in Colorado, including more than $300 million in network investments in just the last five years. Comcast provides 100,000 lower-income Coloradans, including nearly 14,000 individuals in Northern Colorado, with low-cost Internet service through the Internet Essentials program. Last year, it also contributed more than $17 million in cash and in-kind donations to Colorado nonprofits.

"Colorado is thrilled to see continued growth of Comcast in our community,” said Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper. “With over 8,000 employees in the state, Comcast is a significant employer and partner to Colorado's success. The company's expansion in Fort Collins is a testament to the state's talented workforce and collaborative spirit."

“The new Fort Collins customer support center is integral to Comcast’s multi-year strategy to reinvent the customer experience and create a culture of exceeding customers’ expectations,” said Rich Jennings, Comcast Senior Vice President Mountain West Region. “We’re excited to hire 600 employees and give them the training and tools they need to be successful in ensuring every customer’s experience is excellent.”

Nationwide, Comcast will hire a total of more than 5,500 customer service employees in the next few years, including the new Fort Collins employees. New customer support centers are now open and operational in Albuquerque, NM, Spokane, WA and Tucson, AZ.

“Comcast’s decision to move this customer service and technical support center here reinforces the supportive business environment in Fort Collins. The addition of these jobs in our community will ensure that we continue to provide a diversity of employment opportunities in the region,” said Fort Collins Mayor Wade Troxell.

Comcast plans to begin advertising and posting new positions later this year.
