Accuride’s Brillion Iron Works Awarded New Business by Detroit™

  • Powertrain component contract highlights Brillion’s competitiveness in commercial and light vehicle industries

BRILLION, Wis.--()--Accuride Corporation (NYSE: ACW) – a leading supplier of components to the North American and European commercial vehicle industries – announced that the Detroit™ subsidiary of Daimler Trucks North America has awarded Accuride’s Brillion Iron Works business unit a long-term contract to supply the flywheel used with the Detroit™ DT12™ Automated Manual Transmission. Brillion was named a strategic source of machined flywheels to Detroit in North America and will begin production of the components in the second half of 2016.

Earning the new business demonstrates Brillion’s overall competitiveness as a supplier of finished castings to leading producers of commercial vehicle and automotive components. Brillion will manufacture the flywheels through its collaborative business model with Tier 2 supplier Diamond Precision, which will provide machining and final assembly.
