THine's Full-HD TCON Is Adopted to a Japanese Leading Automotive Customer's High-Resolution Center Information Displays

TOKYO--()--THine Electronics, Inc. (JASDAQ: 6769), the global leader in high-speed serial interface and provider of image signal processors and mixed-signal LSI, today announced THine’s full-HD timing controller (TCON) is adopted to a Japanese leading customer’s high-resolution center information displays. This TCON can reduce the number of cables of LCD driver interface drastically and supports Japanese automakers’ quality assurance requirement such as wide range temperature assurance.

THine’s new technologies include its innovative high-speed LCD driver interface, eDriCon®, for customers seeking full-HD solution, applying THine’s know-how in high-speed serial interface technology. eDriCon® can reduce the number of cables one seventh of generally required cables. For example, general full-HD applications with eDriCon® can transmit pixel data only with 4-pair cables while those with usual interfaces require 28 pairs. The high-speed performance of eDriCon® can reduce the system costs and required space for data transmissions inside of equipments. THine has achieved eDriCon® technology with transmitting embedded clock data on pixel data lines.

THine’s full-HD TCON has been adopted not only to automotive center information displays, but also to automotive full-HD rear-seat entertainment and electric rear-view mirrors, obtaining inquiries from Japanese and global automotive customers. In addition, THine offers innovative solutions for automotive customers such as industry’s only* solution of full-HD interface by just one-pair cables and the industry-highest-level image signal processors of 16megapixels. THine’s solution supports automotive values in higher-resolution with reducing number of cables and weights and increasing cost-performance effects.
