Econocaribe Becomes ECU Worldwide

Leading American NVOCC unites with world’s NVOCC market leader under one brand

MIAMI--()--Econocaribe, one of the largest and most respected non-vessel operating common carriers (NVOCCs) in the U.S., today announced it will adopt the name ECU Worldwide as part of a global consolidation with ECU Line. The newly unified brand will encompass all worldwide members of the ECU Line Logistics Group, whose comprehensive network includes 300+ offices in 160+ countries.

“Our new identity marks our commitment to consistently creating value for customers by providing best-in-class services across continents,” said ECU Worldwide Chairman Shashi Kiran Shetty. “The integration of new services, technology, global best practices and professional expertise will redefine the brand experience for our stakeholders.”

The global consolidation and emergence of a unified brand herald a new era for the company, exemplifying ECU Worldwide’s commitment to sophisticated global coordination and customer service. The company’s expanded network will provide its customers with access to all major sea routes and more than 2,400 Less than Container Load (LCL) direct trade-lanes.

“We will draw from our half-century of experience and technology expertise to offer seamless transit of cargo to all corners of the world,” said John Abisch, ECU Worldwide Regional CEO for the USA, Central America and the Caribbean.

“Uniting under the ECU Worldwide name signals to the Forwarding community that we are the same company at origin and at destination,” Abisch added.

With already significant development in the number of import and export trade-lanes to and from the U.S. and the rest of the world, ECU Worldwide is committed to continuing its investment in the American market.

“We see a tremendous opportunity for further growth, not only in our core areas of business but also in the further development of our combined services of shipping and logistic solutions, which include Full Containers, Domestic Trucking and, most recently, the expansion of our neutral Air Freight product,” said Abisch.

For nearly 50 years, Econocaribe has proudly served the Freight Forwarder community in the Americas. Founded in 1988, ECU Line has set the bar for the LCL sector and has been expanding its footprint by establishing a comprehensive worldwide network of logistics professionals. In 2009, Econocaribe and ECU Line joined forces to leverage each other’s strengths. They are now moving forward under one unified brand, ECU Worldwide, to better address ever-changing business demands and the need to bridge diverse geographies.
