REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--E la Carte, Inc., creators of the Presto Smart Dining System™ for full-service restaurants, announced today that it has expanded its senior leadership team to include executives from the restaurant and technology industries. Mark Belinsky has been tapped to fill the role of Chief Operating Officer and Randy Kies has joined the company to lead the newly created Partner Success team. Belinsky and Kies will be joining a leadership team already stacked with talent from industry giants like Google, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Salesforce.com and Darden Restaurants. The staffing of these key positions comes on the heels of E la Carte’s recent announcement of over 85,000 Presto Systems deployed, representing over 40% of the U.S. domestic tabletop market.
“We are excited to have two very talented executives join our company as we grow the Presto System nationwide and look to expand internationally. We are now serving over one million guests per day, and the operational and customer relations needs of the business can be better supported by our expanded leadership team,” stated Rajat Suri, Founder and CEO of E la Carte.
Mark Belinsky is a serial entrepreneur and operating executive with deep experience building global businesses, creating operational excellence, opening new markets, and forging strategic relationships. Previously Mark was SVP and General Manager at Macrovision Corporation (now ROVI, Nasdaq:ROVI) and at Immersion Corporation (Nasdaq:IMMR), and was cofounder of Interop Company and IDG Electronic Marketplace Systems. “Our proprietary Presto Smart Dining System is now operational in more than 1,800 restaurants nationwide, powering over 85,000 guest-facing tablets seven days a week, 365 days a year. A complex guest engagement system like this requires top-notch operations and customer service in order to operate flawlessly and delight our customers and their guests,” said Belinsky.
Seasoned hospitality executive, Randy Kies, has also joined E la Carte as Vice President for Partner Success. Randy brings more than 20 years of restaurant marketing and operations experience, as well as business development expertise in restaurant technology, to E la Carte. Randy has held senior management roles with the Lark Creek Restaurant Group, Brinker International, and PepsiCo as well as founded the foodservice channel for LiveOps. Randy’s passion for business improvement and growth has led to national expansion and international success for several premier foodservice brands including KFC, Chili’s and Vino Volo.
“The restaurant industry is ready for digital transformation and deepening our operating relationships with restaurant operators such as Applebee’s and Outback Steakhouse are my top priorities at E la Carte. Now that our initial Presto System deployments are complete, we are focused on delivering fantastic guest experiences and building on our already successful features such as full menu ordering, guest surveys, and pay-at-the-table,” said Kies.
E la Carte also reports that guest engagement with the Presto System is high and cites recent research conducted in partnership with Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, where over 79 percent of the restaurant guests surveyed responded that the Presto System “improved their overall dining experience,” and 83 percent of restaurant guests said that the Presto System “increases their likelihood to return to the restaurant again.”
