The Guardian Group and SalesFish Join Forces to ‘Bring the Fight to Human Trafficking’

IRVINE, Calif.--()--SalesFish, Inc., a strategic sales and marketing agency, has announced a partnership with nonprofit recognition and response organization The Guardian Group in an attempt to “bring the fight” to the human trafficking epidemic.

According to the CNN Freedom Project and Los Angeles Sheriffs Department, human trafficking is the third largest international crime industry (behind illegal drugs and arms trafficking) and the #1 fastest growing crime industry at home and abroad. According to U.S. Department of State, in the United States, 300,000 children are forced into child prostitution and child pornography each year. In Washington DC alone, trafficking innocent children is a $100 million industry. The average age of a teen who enters the sex trade in the U.S. is 12 to 14 years old – many of whom are runaway girls who were sexually abused as children.

“We know that those who are behind and committing the horrible crimes of human trafficking have become substantially more sophisticated,” said Sheriff Jim McDonnell, of LASD, a national leader in the fight against human trafficking and partner organization with Guardian Group. “As the criminal activity has become that much more lucrative, we need to – we have to – work together to find new strategies. To make a difference, we must not simply prosecute and punish wrongdoers, but equally as importantly, prevent these acts from happening in the first place.”

Made up of a team of elite former military and first responders in the field of human trafficking abatement, Guardian Group was created to work to alleviate the risk of these crimes in the United States. The team draws upon decades of experience fusing intelligence and operations expertise to achieve countering effects on human sex-trafficking.

“Our focus is on predators and networks specifically involved in child sex-trafficking,” said Guardian Group’s Executive Director, a Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency Expert with over 22 years of US Military Special operations experience. “The intent is to gain an offensive advantage against this spiraling problem. While the rescue and recovery of children is paramount, by leveraging an offensive advantage, they are able to disrupt the exploitation cycle before rescue is necessary. We are working to train and inform the hospitality and travel industries, which are among the most prevalent on-ramps to human trafficking, as well as work directly with law enforcement to apprehend perpetrators and free victims.
