PALM BEACH, Fla.--()--South Florida-based A1A Airport & Limousine Service was awarded the 2016 Operator of the Year by LCT Magazine, the trade journal of the National Limousine Association.

A1A Limo was selected as the winner of the Midsize Operator of the Year award among 2,200 National Limousine Association member companies. The award was presented to first time recipient A1A Limo during the recent 2016 LCT Show in Las Vegas, which is the largest convention for limousine, charter and tour operators in the world. The Operator of the Year is chosen by an independent judging organization based on superior customer service, safety, technology, marketing, staff training, as well as industry and community involvement.

“We were taken entirely by surprise,” says A1A Limo owner Rick Versace. “Winning the award is a validation of how hard our staff works day in and day out. It is extremely rewarding to be recognized for this honor.”

This is the second Operator of the Year award A1A Limo has won in the past year. In October of 2015, the transportation service received the 2015 Limousine Operator of the Year award from the Taxicab, Limousine & Paratransit Association, which is the largest trade association for the industry. Only one other company has won both awards in the same year.

Versace started in the business more than 35 years ago in Brooklyn. He opened A1A Airport & Limousine Service in 1996 after moving to South Florida and purchasing multiple transportation companies in the area. A1A’s core business is taking people to and from the airport in Cadillac sedans.

Versace is now franchising his very successful business concept across the United States. “People always need high quality transportation, with real insurance and fingerprint background checked drivers,” he said. “We are going to do for the ground transportation industry what Century 21 did to the real estate Industry by showing existing companies how to get to the next level by using systems and marketing techniques that create loyal customers and deliver high margins.”

For Versace, the most important part of the transportation industry is making clients happy. “We try to make every ride a memorable occasion,” says Versace. “For A1A, it’s not about the money. It’s about doing the job right. If you do the job right, the money will follow.”
