QAD Announces Key Enhancements Across its Solutions

Latest QAD Cloud ERP version includes innovations in user experience, automotive, financials, internationalization and shop floor

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--()--QAD, a leading provider of enterprise software and services for global manufacturing companies, today announced availability of enhancements to its flagship QAD Cloud ERP and QAD Enterprise Applications 2016, and other key QAD solutions including QAD Automation Solutions, QAD DSCP (Demand and Supply Chain Planning), QAD Transportation Management System (QAD TMS) and QAD Enterprise Asset Management (QAD EAM). QAD will present, offer training and demonstrate the new capabilities at the QAD Explore 2016 customer conference, May 2-5, 2016 in Chicago.

“The range of enhancements demonstrates our commitment to continuous innovation across the range of QAD’s solutions,” said Bill Keese, Senior Vice President of Research and Development for QAD. “We are particularly excited to unveil the next phase of the Project Channel Islands user experience, called Santa Cruz, to our customers. We also made extensive functional improvements to core ERP products and related solutions, and increased the depth of integration across all solutions.”

Santa Cruz, the second phase of QAD’s Project Channel Islands user experience initiative, becomes available today for early adopters running on 2015 and 2016 versions of QAD Cloud ERP. The multi-year Project Channel Islands gives customers the choice of using an attractive, intuitive, device-independent user experience personalized for roles, tasks and each user. Besides supporting new features like sales quotes and EAM requisition approvals, Santa Cruz adds support for additional roles, primarily for decision makers, that include embedded operational metrics and information visibility.

QAD Cloud ERP and QAD Enterprise Applications received a variety of major enhancements that became available to customers on March 17, 2016. Examples of new capabilities include:

  • Working directly with Automotive customers, QAD developed “Supplier Milk Run” and “Days on Hand” inventory enhancements. Supplier Milk Run reduces shipping costs by facilitating collection from suppliers via the most efficient routes and truck load utilization. Days on Hand inventory gives material managers and planners a financial tool to help reduce excess inventory.
  • QAD Financials updates include 16 customer-requested features, more flexible sharing of chart of accounts by entity, journal archiving and summarization, and improvements to the financial reporting framework particularly in the areas of budgeting and ease-of-use.
  • QAD’s Internationalization program drives continuous innovation and legal and regulatory support for global manufacturing companies. Several new across-the-board capabilities are now available, for example, the ability to add taxes to pre-payments. Specific tax and credit processing enhancements were made for the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the USA and several countries in eastern Europe. New country extensions include Macedonia, Malaysia, Serbia, Slovakia and Tunisia. Major country extension updates were made for Brazil, Israel and Italy, and key country extension updates are available for Bulgaria, France, Russia and Spain. QAD supports the legal requirements for over 60 countries.

QAD Automation Solutions is available with several enhancements. Introduced with limited availability during 2015, QAD Automation Solutions provides shop floor data collection and label printing services directly integrated with ERP, helping manufacturers better align their material logistics processes.

“QAD Automation Solutions has been a big hit with early adopter customers,” said QAD President and Chairman of the Board, Pam Lopker. “They appreciate the data collection and label printing capabilities that help them streamline business processes and reduce errors. They also recognize that the benefits go far beyond that. As manufacturers begin to look at ways to connect machine to machine and collect detailed information about their manufacturing processes, QAD Automation Solutions acts as a connector to transition to IoT quickly, simply and cost effectively.”

QAD offers a variety of products closely related to ERP and has added innovations to most of them for March, including:

  • QAD EAM adds a new module to streamline work order closings via easier navigation, helping users to quickly record work order activity. QAD EAM also deepened integration with ERP.
  • A new release of QAD TMS, based on QAD’s Precision Software division’s solution, improves address verification, adds ad-hoc trade compliance screening and enhances export customs reporting. QAD also expanded its carrier network.
  • The new version of QAD DSCP, based on QAD’s DynaSys division’s solution, includes several new functional improvements, including adding several points of data integration with ERP in areas like demand planning. The user experience is now based on Project Channel Islands principles.
  • Your Application Builder (YAB), a dashboard and management tool used to increase the speed and reliability of implementations and upgrades, used previously only for the most recent QAD Cloud ERP implementations, is now available for cloud and on-premise implementations.
