PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Evoqua Water Technologies has been awarded contracts at four existing facilities for its Davco™ field-erected treatment plants that will improve performance and increase capacity while saving capital costs. Evoqua’s sales partners, Heyward, Inc. located in North Carolina and Heyward Florida, were instrumental in working with the three municipalities and one industrial customer.
Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA), one of the largest community-owned electric utility companies in the United States contracted for the turnkey construction of a 600,000 gallons per day (GPD), 5-stage biological nutrient removal (BNR) treatment system at the Blacks Ford Water Reclamation Facility. Evoqua was the general contractor on the project and supplied all the materials and installation services for the project. The new Davco™ field-erected biological treatment plant will start-up in the Spring of 2016.
Lee County, FL recently upgraded an aging 1.0 million gallons per day (MGD) Davco™ plant and re-configured the clarifier system into an extended aeration plant. This upgrade will allow Lee County to meet future treatment capacity demands in this growing community.
Port St John, FL has asked Evoqua to supply all materials of construction for the upgrade and installation of a 32’ diameter steel wall clarifier and the refurbishment of an existing Davco™ field-erected treatment plant. The refurbishments will include new clarifier weirs and the repair of existing steel tank walls and components associated with the field-erected biological treatment plant.
Smithfield Farmland Corporation located in Tarhill, NC contracted with Evoqua to construct a new 150,000 gpd extended aeration Davco™ plant to replace an aging existing plant. The turnkey project included all tankage, controls, labor, and commissioning. The Evoqua project team worked closely with Smithfield Farmland to reuse existing electrical components to save capital costs. Start-up is expected in the summer of 2016.
“Communities and private industries rely on Davco™ steel field-erected biological treatment systems for wastewater treatment applications because of short concept-to-completion timeline, and reduced capital costs and footprint,” says Marc Roehl, VP and General Manager of Evoqua’s Wastewater Treatment Business Segment.
