TOKYO--()--Last evening, Park Lane Ala Moana hosted a private event for 100 guests featuring a performance by one of Japan’s most iconic popular music artists, Fumiya Fujii. The event took place in the Tokyo Studio room of the Toranomon Hills tower at the Andaz Toranomon Tokyo Hotel. During the show, Park Lane homeowners enjoyed a five-course dinner with wine pairings curated by Andaz executive chef Gerhard Passrugger.

Fumiya Fujii is internationally known for his work in pop and rock, breaking records as a vocalist for musical group The Checkers and as a solo artist. “We’re thrilled Mr. Fujii accepted our invitation to perform tonight at this incredible venue,” said Park Lane co-developer Alana Kobayashi Pakkala. “To have someone as acclaimed as Mr. Fujii with us tonight has really brought something special to the experience.”

As part of the evening’s entertainment, Mr. Fujii performed some of his most popular hit songs, including “True Love.” Guests enjoyed the music along with selections from a five-course menu featuring French duck breast with red wine and black pepper, scallop mousse with sea urchin and grilled Japanese kuroge Waygu with field mustard, asparagus and young onion puree. Wine pairings included a 2006 Dom Perignon, a 2014 Flowers Chardonnay and a 2007 Chateau Pontet Canet.

“As a Hawaii-based family of companies, we have a special kinship with Japan and its people,” said Park Lane co-developer Ian MacNaughton. “Many of our residents spend significant amounts of time in Japan and Hawaii, and consider both to be ‘home.’ In that spirit, we view this event, fusing Japanese music and cuisine with global sensibilities, as extensions of the Park Lane experience. We’re honored by the Andaz Tokyo and Mr. Fujii’s collaboration in bringing this event to our community.”

Last night’s event was hosted by Park Lane Ala Moana developers The MacNaughton Group and Kobayashi Group in conjunction with Ala Moana Center owner General Growth Properties. It marks the latest in a series of private events curated exclusively for Park Lane Ala Moana owners and their guests.
