TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Florida-based Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) today will showcase its commitment to strengthening education in the state and its innovative Florida technologies during STEM Day at the Capitol, an event to educate lawmakers and students on the importance of science, technology, engineering and mathematics education. Harris’ participation is part of its companywide celebration of National Engineers Week, which began Monday.
At STEM Day at the Capitol, being held today at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Harris scientists and engineers will conduct interactive exhibits to enable attendees to experience technical careers first hand. Many of the technologies on display were created by Harris’ 6,000 Florida-based employees or are used by Florida government and commercial customers. Harris technologies are widely used throughout the state by first responders, energy and maritime customers, among others. Click here for more information.

Brown, chairman, president and chief executive officer. “STEM related skills are vital not only to the future of our company, but also to the future of our state and country.
