PORTLAND, Ore.--()--Tripwire, Inc., a leading global provider of endpoint detection and response, security and compliance solutions, today announced that its chief research officer and senior security analyst, David Meltzer and Travis Smith, respectively, will be presenting at RSA Conference 2016. The conference will take place February 29-March 4, 2016, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California.

Converging IT and OT for Secure, Reliable, Resilient Industrial Networks

In order to properly respond to cyberattacks on critical infrastructure, information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) teams must develop clear and integrated communication measures. However, this convergence can be difficult to achieve. In this presentation, David Meltzer will discuss IT and OT myths and misconceptions and offer suggestions on how to address cultural differences in each group, with the goal of improving security and reliability in industrial control system environments.

In addition to Meltzer, Jeff Caldwell, chief architect of cybersecurity at Belden, will join this session.

Session Title: “Converging IT and OT for Secure, Reliable, Resilient Industrial Networks”
Who: David Meltzer, chief research officer, Tripwire
When: Tuesday, March 1, 2016, 3:30-4:20 p.m. PST
Where: RSA Conference 2016, Room 131, Moscone Center North

Dreaming of IoCs: Adding Time Context to Threat Intelligence

Log data can be an instrumental resource for organizations looking to generate operational statistics and alerts on abnormal behavior. However, valuable security data may be obstructed due to the sheer size of log data files, making it more difficult to detect attacks quickly. In this presentation, Travis Smith will demo commercial and open source threat intelligence tools. These tools add essential time context to log data, which allows organizations to pinpoint when a breach occurred as well as gain critical forensic analysis information.
