HKTDC: From dumpling makers to handmade bamboo baskets – Hong Kong at Ambiente

FRANKFURT, Germany--()--The international consumer goods trade fair Ambiente opens its doors in Frankfurt from February 12 to 16, 2016 with 4,387 exhibitors from 96 countries. There will also be 21 companies from Hong Kong presenting design trends and novelties in the areas “Dining” and “Giving” on two combined stands (Halls 10.4 and 10.0) organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).

Stand C49B in Hall 10.4 offers different products for the kitchen, table and gastronomy. Baking at home is constantly growing and even utensils suitable for children are on display. Summary Ltd. and Hanlex Industrial Co. Ltd. pick up this topic with highly-colored silicone cookie shapers and cutters for 3D-biscuits. The portfolios of Konstar Industries Ltd., Spring Wind Accessories Ltd., and Samson Bright Industrial Company Ltd. include yolk separators, fishbone removers and dumpling shapers in different sizes. Barbecue fans find barbecue tongs, grill turners, corncob and onion holders at Marco Home Products Limited and Lee Yuen Housewares Company Limited.

Pots, pans, cutlery and cooking utensils in different shapes and sizes offer JBL (Hong Kong) Industrial Ltd., Kids Euroswan HK Ltd., Remalux HK Ltd. and Xin Fu Trading International Ltd.. Amongst others functionally designed tea and coffee pots, strainers made of stainless steel and water carafes are exhibited by Kingsville Industrial Ltd., Loyal Top (Hong Kong) Ltd., Man Chuen Metal & Iron Works Ltd., Reaper Household Development Ltd. and Winmate Enterprises Ltd.. Hand-painted porcelain and ceramics at Bonjet International Ltd., Stanley Porcelain Fty. and Sunny Age Ltd. are complemented with wooden magazine racks and bamboo baskets.

In Hall 10.0, Stand D25, accessories, gifts and decorations are in the focus: Eagle Resources Trading Limited shows ideas for home and garden including highly-colored butterflies, bees and nesting boxes. Jingle Metal Products Co. Ltd. presents classical picture frames in different styles and photo albums.

In 2015, Hong Kong exported gift and decoration articles to a value of USD 22.7 billion (-8.2% compared to 2014). Main sales markets were the USA, Japan, China and Switzerland. During the same period imports reached USD 26.9 billion (-12.2%). Hong Kong´s exports of household goods reached USD 34.8 billion remaining nearly stable (-1.9%). Main customer markets included the USA, India and China. Imports of household goods increased by 5.5 per cent (USD 49.7 billion).
