NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--WheePR Media, a branding and public relations company announced today the successful close of its angel round of funding for $250,000 by entrepreneur and investor Ken Fields. Mr. Fields has been active as an advisor and mentor to the company since early 2015 and will now officially join WheePR as Director Of Business Development.
When asked about his investment and purpose Mr. Fields replied, “I have been friends with Eric for a long time. I think he’s an incredibly creative guy, has a lot of energy and great ideas. Media, press, branding, public relations are all a vital component of doing business in the modern digital age. I’ve had varying levels of success with different ventures and for me it’s always been that alchemical mix that creates a brand that has interested me.”
Mr. Fields has been a successful real estate investor as an owner and developer of hospitality properties, hotels and restaurants in New York, Connecticut, Florida and Louisiana. He has owned a 3,000 acre cattle ranch and imported grass fed all natural beef under the Uruguay Steaks brand. In recent years he has been a consultant and the director of business development for a number of small renewable energy companies.
Commenting on the recent announcement that he was running as an Independent Presidential Candidate for 2016, “It’s very serious, well sort of serious. I think this is going to be an important election. I’m not going to win, but this is a way of expressing my opinion. WheePR is a vehicle for me, a platform to help express that opinion. It’s a business, but also a business with purpose. We’re kind of flying by the seat of our pants, but having fun doing it.”
The Company plans to use the funds to expand its business, consolidate existing assets, create new partnerships and acquire a wide range of digital media properties.
