BioForward Hosts First Event of Educational Series for Wisconsin Entrepreneurs

Wisconsin Bio-health Association starts the new-year with educational event series in Milwaukee

MADISON, Wis.--()--BioForward, a member-drive state association and advocate for Wisconsin’s bio-health industry, has announced their first educational event of their new, entrepreneurial driven series for the upcoming year. The goal of the new event series is to inform and guide entrepreneurs in the high-tech health solutions space on key steps to maximize chances of bringing their innovative ideas to market.

“The future of Wisconsin’s multi-dimensional bio-health industry lies within entrepreneurial talent that currently exists within the state and is acquired from outside the state,” said BioForward CEO Lisa Johnson. “We are excited to hold a series of educational events to inform upcoming and existing entrepreneurs about the opportunities and unique challenges that face our bio-health startups, including understanding if an idea is a viable business.”

Lisa Johnson and Dr. John Raymond, President of the Medical College of Wisconsin, will open the event with introductory remarks on the new event series and the health-tech atmosphere that currently exists in Wisconsin.

The event will be moderated by Paul Jones, of Counsel at Michael Best & Friedrich, who will discuss “Thinking about Biohealth as a Business” and lead a panel covering hot topics in getting started with a business. Panel members will also hold individual breakout sessions following the panel, highlighting industries such as therapeutics, medical technology, and health technology. Panel members include:

  • Loren Peterson, Managing Director, Venture Investors
  • Rock Mackie, Director of Medical Engineering, Morgridge Institute for Research
