NRF Publication, STORES Magazine, Recognizes Pep Boys and Credera for Ecommerce Excellence

DALLAS--()--The Pep Boys – Manny, Moe & Jack (NYSE: PBY), the nation’s leading automotive aftermarket service and retail chain, together with Credera, a management and technology consulting firm, was recently recognized by STORES Magazine for developing and implementing an outstanding ecommerce strategy. Utilizing the Broadleaf Commerce open source ecommerce platform and a service-first approach, Pep Boys has dramatically increased online revenue while providing customers with a seamless omni-channel experience.

“We have rapidly seen the sales results from our ecommerce projects with Credera reach over $100M dollars,” says Tom Carey, Pep Boys’ Chief Customer Officer.

Pep Boys’ philosophy has always been to lead with service. This is no different when it comes to their ecommerce strategy. Their goal is to fully integrate the ecommerce experience with the in-store service experience for the customer.

"Achieving the vision required a highly customized ecommerce solution with deep integration to Pep Boys’ enterprise store and inventory systems," said Brian Polster, Chief Executive Officer, Broadleaf Commerce.

Operationally, ecommerce purchases fold smoothly into existing in-store processes for service appointments and inventory management. Remarkably, educating sales staff requires less than 30 minutes of training when systems and processes are strategically integrated.

“Educating sales associates isn’t difficult because the platform is so seamless,” says Mr. Carey. “It’s connected to all the systems we have on the front end and back end, so it’s familiar.”

“It’s amazing to see what Pep Boys has accomplished,” said Phil Lockhart, Principal at Credera who worked on the Pep Boys project. “Credera is honored to have been apart of Pep Boys’ success.”
