Aleph Objects, Inc. Celebrates Record-Breaking Year After Tripling Revenue in 2015, Collaborates with Industry-Leading Partners to Expand LulzBot Product Offering at CES 2016

LAS VEGAS--()--The market showed a dramatic flight to quality in 2015, embracing reliable and trusted 3D printing solutions. Aleph Objects, Inc.'s award-winning LulzBot® line of desktop 3D printers drove a record-breaking tripling in year-over-year revenue up to US$15 million, growing to 100 employees with plans to continue to scale up in 2016. At CES 2016 the company announced new LulzBot 3D printer hardware, filament materials, updated software, and expanded distribution.

“In 2015, we validated for the public the Free Software, Libre Innovation, and Open Source Hardware business model,” said Aleph Objects, Inc. Vice President of Marketing Harris Kenny. “Our announcements at CES 2016 show that Aleph Objects' collaborative approach respects user freedom, creates better products, and fuels rapid growth.”

The company is upgrading its line of multi-material tool heads for the robust LulzBot TAZ 3D printers. The new LulzBot TAZ Dual Extruder Tool Head v2 is available for purchase on LulzBot.com; the FlexyDually Tool Head v2 will be available in Q1 2016. These professional-grade tool heads use open (non-proprietary) 3mm filament; heat up to 300 degrees Celsius (572 degrees Fahrenheit); and print dozens of materials. With over one million hours of in-house printing on our LulzBot extruders over the last year, the company is thrilled to expand the use of its market-proven all-metal hot ends, improved by years of collaboration with the LulzBot community and RepRap developers around the world.

The company's latest Cura LulzBot Edition software update boasts new features like pause during printing (for mid-print filament swaps) and tested print profiles for six (6) new materials. Freely download Cura LulzBot Edition v18 at LulzBot.com/Cura. The company is also expanding its international operations by opening a new fulfillment center in Australia in Q1 2016 to serve its growing global community.

Aleph Objects is joined by industry-leading partners at CES 2016, including:

  • colorFabb rolling out nGen, an easy-to-print, next-generation material made with Eastman Amphora AM 3300, available soon on LulzBot.com. “The use of nGen runs the gamut of 3D-printed applications, ranging from prototyping to experimenting, and from designing to making serious money,” colorFabb Managing Director Ruud Rouleaux said. “Aleph Objects' well-known and renowned brand of LulzBot 3D printers and colorFabb’s new special filament are a perfect match.”
  • Proto-pasta bringing its engineering-grade PLA, available for purchase Jan. 6, 2015, on LulzBot.com. “Proto-pasta Aromatic Coffee High Temp PLA is the perfect pair for LulzBot 3D printers,” ProtoPlant Co-Founder Alex Dick said. “Proto-pasta's High Temp PLA offers the ease and environmental friendliness of PLA printing, with engineering performance in excess of ABS and PET when heat treated (annealed).”
  • Chroma Strand Labs debuting INOVA-1800, a co-polyester filament made with Eastman Amphora AM 1800, available soon on LulzBot.com. "At Chroma Strand Labs, we strive to provide makers with the best materials to build their dreams,” Chroma Strand Labs Founder Dustin Rekow said. “That is why we are excited to be partnering with Aleph Objects. Together, with shared vision, we equip makers for the future.”
  • Red Hat, Inc., the world's leading Open Source software company, doing live demos of Fedora, the company's Free/Open Source desktop GNU/Linux software distribution, with Cura LulzBot Edition.
  • OpenBCI conducting live demos of the 3D printed Ultracortex Mark 3, a headset converting brain, muscle, and heart activity into USB signals that control devices and gather data.

New materials mentioned above join dozens that are already supported for the LulzBot platform, such as: PLA, ABS, HIPS, nylon, wood, bamboo, iron, steel, bronze, copper, stone, polycarbonate, PET, TPU, PVA, and more. See more at: Tech West Sands Expo Hall B Booth #72117 in the 3D Printing Section.
