Eaton Earns 100 Percent on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Fourteenth Annual Scorecard on LGBT Workplace Equality

CLEVELAND--()--Power management company Eaton announced that it received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2016 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.

“At Eaton, fostering an inclusive workplace in which employees can fully contribute their unique skills and capabilities is imperative to helping them achieve their highest potential and in turn helping our business to succeed,” said Cathy Medeiros, Eaton’s vice president for global inclusion and diversity. “We are extremely proud of our score of 100 on the HRC’s Corporate Equality Index, which we consider a great mark of our progress.”

The 2016 CEI rated 1,027 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. Eaton’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria results in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.

“In this 2016 Corporate Equality Index, hundreds of major businesses responded to our new standards for workplace equality with exceptional leadership,” said Deena Fidas, workplace equality program director for the HRC Foundation. “Eaton not only meets these standards, it goes above and beyond the call of duty, making commitment to equality a fundamental aspect of its corporate values."
