NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Berkadia, an industry-leading commercial real estate company, today announced the hiring of Keith T. Misner as head of investment sales. He will be based in the Bethesda, Maryland office and report to Executive Vice President and Head of Production Ernie Katai, effective immediately. Misner brings more than 25 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry to Berkadia, where he will be responsible for accelerating the growth of its investment sales platform.
Berkadia acquired its national multifamily investment sales platform in January 2013 to complement its mortgage banking and servicing business units. Since that time, the company has achieved more than $13 billion in sales.

Most recently, Misner served as senior vice president and portfolio manager at Abacus Capital Group LLC, a privately held investment fund firm focused exclusively on investing and developing apartment properties across the country. Previously, he was senior vice president of transactions at Aimco, a publicly traded and self-administered apartment property REIT. During his career, Misner has worked in senior leadership roles at Grubb & Ellis, CBRE and Cushman & Wakefield, where from 2003 to 2010, he was a national leader in apartment brokerage services.
Misner represents the latest of 35 hires this year to Berkadia’s investment sales team. Berkadia has 65 mortgage banking and investment sales offices throughout the United States.

Misner earned a Master of Science degree in Real Estate Development and Investment from New York University and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in Finance and Real Estate from East Carolina University. He is currently an active member of both the National Multifamily Housing Council and Urban Land Institute.
