Exabeam Joins IBM Security App Exchange Community

Exabeam User Behavior Analytics part of collaborative development to stay ahead of evolving threats

SAN MATEO, Calif.--()--Exabeam, a market leader in user behavior analytics (UBA), today launched UBA for QRadar, which integrates with IBM security intelligence technology to achieve fully-integrated user behavior analytics for insider threat and compromised credential detection. Joint customers will enjoy enhanced threat detection, improved incident prioritization and faster, more effective response.

The new application is freely available to the security community through IBM Security App Exchange, a marketplace where developers across the industry can share applications based on IBM Security technologies. As threats are evolving faster than ever, collaborative development among the security community will help organizations adapt quickly and expedite innovation in the fight against cybercrime.

Exabeam applies machine learning to create a baseline of normal behavior for each employee or contractor on a corporate network. It then compares each user’s activity against that normal baseline to determine if particular actions are risky, even if that user switches devices, accounts or IP addresses. The product then presents a timeline showing all activities, from log-on to log-off, as well as the associated risk. Security analysts can see quickly and easily which users might be compromised, as well as which systems they accessed.

Exabeam UBA for QRadar leverages IBM Security QRadar, the company’s security intelligence platform, which analyzes data across an organization’s IT infrastructure in real time to identify potential security threats. Leveraging QRadar’s new open application programming interfaces (API), UBA for QRadar allows Exabeam and IBM customers to assess risk from malicious insiders and external hackers, while dramatically improving security analyst productivity.

“Firms in all industries struggle to protect against modern cyber threats, and a shortage of expert security personnel makes the problem worse,” said Nir Polak, Exabeam CEO. “The combination of Exabeam UBA and QRadar makes hard-to-hire security analysts more productive and effective in detecting and responding to attacks.”

Exabeam UBA for QRadar provides bi-directional integration between both companies’ products. The solution is available immediately.
